Tobacco Liability in Illnesses and Deaths - 2153 Words

Smoking has been around for quite some time now, dating back farther than 1492. On October 29, 1492, two of Christopher Columbus’s crew members, Rodrigo de Jerez and Luis de Torres, were the first two Europeans to try smoking tobacco offered to them by the Native Indians (Marcovitz 14). Tobacco companies will lose revenue and may vanish as one of the oldest and wealthiest industries in America because of frivolous liability lawsuits and competition from companies producing other tobacco related products. In the future, tobacco products are more likely to vanish in time because of the addiction and diseases that smoking can cause. In 1556, smoking was introduced to the French by Andre Thevet, a monk who had picked up the habit in Brazil while on an expedition (Marcovitz 15). Observe a Sixth Grade English Class at Bain Middle School I observe at Roosevelt Middle School, which is in River Forest, in Mrs. Braun’s sixth grade English class on Tuesdays in the morning. As I have observed, I have noticed that the classroom is student-centered. During computer time, Mrs. Braun focused more on helping the students get into the computer program to start the assignment than on having enough time to get the assignment done. Several times, Mrs. Braun gave helpful comments on how to do things on the computer or in the program, such as how to install automatic spell check. However, there is no specific ways has been developed for avoiding such challenges for the effective fulfilment of organizational goals and objectives. The previous studies also have not considered the way business environment has changed over the past few years in a significant manner. Moreover, the kind of impact inclusion of indigenous people will have on the efficiency level of a global team. Therefore, there are many scopes to conduct research activities for identifying the best possible way to handle challenges associated with managing global teams. Conclusion: Managing of global teams has emerged as one of the prime challenges for the managers for ensuring continues growth in the global market. Over the years, several organizations have developed different strategies for keeping the diversified workforce happy and satisfied with the provided roles and responsibilities. However, managers in different multinational organizations will have to acquire different skills and knowledge for handling employees from different geographical and cultural background for long period of time. The leaders will have to focus on assessing the way people from different geographical region communicates with each other. It will allow the managers to identify the best possible way to transfer information in an appropriate way. In addition, managers will also have to provide special attention to all the employees so that they do not feel neglected within the workplace. Moreover, the management will have to ensure employees from all background can have equal amount of opportunity for career progression in order to accomplish all the goals of developing global teams.
